If you don't want Microsoft Edge to start when you sign in to Windows, you can change this in Windows Settings.
1. Go to Start > Settings .
2. Select Accounts > Sign-in options.
3. Turn off Automatically save my restartable apps and restart them when I sign in.
You can also try:
Disable Edge from Running in Background:
Open Microsoft Edge.
Go to Settings.
Under System, toggle off "Continue running background apps when Microsoft Edge is closed."
Restart your computer.
Disable Edge Startup Tasks:
Right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager.
Go to the "Startup" tab.
Look for any Edge-related entries and disable them by right-clicking and selecting "Disable."
Reset Edge Settings:
Open Microsoft Edge.
Go to Settings by clicking on the three-dot menu at the top right corner.
Scroll down and click on "Reset settings" under Reset settings.
Click on the "Restore settings to their default values" button.
Restart your computer and check if the issue persists.
